What this article helps you do
Derived Connect lets you manage rules for derived rate plans that already exist.
A derived rate plan follows pricing or restriction rules from a master rate plan. This helps related rate plans stay aligned without updating each rate plan manually.
Use this page to:
- Review existing derived combinations
- Create a derived combination, if available
- Select rooms and derived rate plans for the combination
- Set pricing rules from the master rate plan
- Set auto stop sell rules based on inventory
- Choose which restrictions sync from the master rate plan
- Deploy derived setup changes
Before you start
You need access to your Property Account.
The + Add Combination button only appears if the property has at least one room and at least one derived rate plan created.
If you do not see + Add Combination, there may be no derived rate plan available yet, or your account may not have access to create a derived combination.
How to open Derived Connect
- Log in to your Property Account
- Go to Intelligence
- Select Derived Connect
You will see the Derived Connect page.
Review the Derived Connect page
The Derived Connect page shows existing derived combinations.
You may see:
- Actions - used to edit or delete an existing derived combination
- Account ID - showing the account linked to the derived combination
- Selected Rooms - showing the rooms included in the derived combination
- Selected Rate Plans - showing the derived rate plans included in the combination
- Info icon - used to view more rate plan details
- + Add Combination - used to create a new derived combination, if available
If no derived combination has been created yet, the page shows No Combination Created Yet.
Create a derived combination
Use + Add Combination to group existing rooms and derived rate plans under one derived setup.
- Go to Intelligence > Derived Connect
- Click + Add Combination
- Select the correct customer segment
- Select Direct for a normal/direct derived combination
- Select TPS if the derived combination needs to be linked to a TPS account
- If you select TPS, search for and select the correct TPS account name
- Click Add
After clicking Add, continue the setup:
- Select the rooms and derived rate plans you want to include
- Set the pricing rule for each selected derived rate plan
- Set the auto stop sell rule, if needed
- Click Save and Continue
Important: For TPS-linked derived combinations, make sure TPS is selected and the correct TPS account is chosen before clicking Add. If this is not selected, the combination may be created as a normal direct derived combination instead of a TPS-linked one.
Set pricing rules
Use the Pricing & Rules tab to choose how each derived rate plan follows the master rate plan.
You may see:
- No - no pricing rule is applied from the master rate plan
- = - the derived rate plan uses the same price as the master rate plan
- +% - the derived rate plan increases by the percentage entered
- -% - the derived rate plan decreases by the percentage entered
If No or = is selected, no percentage value is needed.
If +% or -% is selected, enter the percentage value required.
For example:
- = - the derived rate plan matches the master rate plan price
- +% 10 - the derived rate plan is 10% higher than the master rate plan
- -% 15 - the derived rate plan is 15% lower than the master rate plan
Auto stop sell
The Stop Sell field lets you stop sell the derived rate plan automatically when inventory is equal to or lower than the selected value.
You may see:
- No - auto stop sell is not applied
- 1 to 999 - the inventory value used to trigger auto stop sell
For example, if the value is set to 4, the derived rate plan is stopped when inventory is 4 or lower.
Set restriction sync rules
After clicking Save and Continue, open the Restrictions tab.
Use this tab to choose which booking restrictions should sync from the master rate plan.
Available restriction types may include:
- Min Stay
- Max Stay
- Min Stay Arrival
- Max Stay Arrival
- Min Advance Booking Offset
- Max Advance Booking Offset
- Close to Arrival
- Close to Departure
- Stop Sell
For each restriction, choose:
- No - the restriction does not sync from the master rate plan
- Yes - the restriction syncs from the master rate plan
When Yes is selected, some restrictions may show extra sync options.
Sync logic options
For restrictions that support a value adjustment, you may see:
- Same - use the exact value from the master rate plan
- Increase - add a value to the master rate plan restriction
- Decrease - subtract a value from the master rate plan restriction
For example, if the master rate plan has a minimum stay of 2 nights and you choose Increase with a value of 1, the derived rate plan minimum stay becomes 3 nights.
Some restrictions, such as Close to Arrival, Close to Departure, and Stop Sell, only require Yes or No and do not show an extra value field.
Deploy changes
After setting the restriction sync rules, click Deploy Changes.
This applies the derived setup to the selected derived rate plans.
Important: Changes are not applied until Deploy Changes is clicked.
Edit or delete an existing derived combination
Use the edit icon to update an existing derived combination.
Use the delete icon to delete an existing derived combination.
Before deleting, check the selected rooms and rate plans carefully.
