Mapping Rooms & Rate Plans
This section is where you’ll link/map your own rooms and rate plans with the ones available in Bakuun. Mapping is a key step to ensure ARI (Availability, Rates, Inventory) and booking data flow correctly between your system and ours.
There are two types of mapping supported on the platform:
Standard Mapping → Rooms
In Standard Mapping, the Demand Partner manually links/selects their rooms with the Property’s rooms and rate plans available in Bakuun. This allows for flexibility if your system retrieves room data via API after entering your internal property ID.
Table Reference - Standard Mapping → Rooms
| Field | Description |
Check this box to select the Bakuun Room you want to map.
Room ID assigned by Bakuun (e.g., R22.1).
The name of the room as stored in Bakuun (e.g., Junior Suite Superior).
Your Room ID will show here if the room is mapped with your room.
Your Room Name will show here if the room is mapped with your room.
Select your system’s room to be linked with the selected Bakuun Room.
Your internal Room ID as it appears in your system.
Your internal Room Name.
If a room is not mapped, you will see Connect button here, click to map. If a room is already mapped, you can disconnect it using this button.
Indicates that this room has already been mapped with one of your rooms below. Useful for quick confirmation.
✨ Tip: Use the Refresh button if you’ve made any updates to your room setup, this ensures your latest room list is displayed.
Reverse Mapping → Rooms
In some cases, you don’t need to manually select or match room IDs and rate plans in the Bakuun interface. If you have Reverse Mapping integration, this lets your system automatically connect with Bakuun using our room and rate plan IDs.
This is helpful if your team is handling the connection via API and wants to automatically pull our data into your platform.
How Reverse Mapping for Rooms Works
Instead of you entering your internal Property ID to fetch your room/rate info (like in Standard Mapping), we provide you the Bakuun IDs, and you use them in your system to fetch the data from us via API.
That means:
- You don’t manually map rooms in our dashboard
- You call our API using Bakuun IDs, and we return the room and rate plan details
- You use the data returned to configure your setup on your end
This is faster and removes the need to log in and map things manually. ✅ After reviewing and confirming all mappings, click Next Step to continue.
✨ Tip: Always use the Refresh button if you’ve made any updates to room configurations on your side before mapping.
Standard Mapping → Rate Plan(s)
This is where you manually map each rate plan between the Bakuun system and your own.
You’ll then match them with the corresponding rate plans from your side (Demand Partner) to complete the connection.
Table Reference - Standard Mapping → Rate Plan(s)
| Field | Description |
Checkbox to select a Property Rate Plan to be mapped.
Rate Plan ID assigned by Bakuun
Contains the maximum occupancy of the rate plan + Meal Basis + Cancellation Policy.
Contains any extra included in the rate plan
Your Rate Plan ID will show here if the rate plan is mapped with your rate plan.
Contains the rate plan details from your system.
Select your system’s rate plan to be linked with the selected Property/Bakuun rate plan.
Your internal rate plan ID.
Configuration of the rate plan (e.g., Max 2, Breakfast).
Contains any of your extra information included in the rate plan.
If a room is not mapped, you will see Connect button here, click to map. If a room is already mapped, you can disconnect it using this button.
Hover your mouse and you will see more information about the rate plan’s configuration.
Navigation between steps of the mapping process.
✨ Tip: Always use the Refresh button if you’ve made any updates to rate plan configurations on your side before mapping.
Reverse Mapping → Rate Plan(s)
In some cases, you don’t need to manually select or match room IDs and rate plans in the Bakuun interface. If you have Reverse Mapping integration, this lets your system automatically connect with Bakuun using our room and rate plan IDs.
This is helpful if your team is handling the connection via API and wants to automatically pull our data into your platform.

✨ Tip: Reverse mapping simplifies your workflow no manual pairing needed! Just ensure your API is returning the full room and rate plan list correctly when we send the mapping IDs.
Rates
In this section, you’ll find the property’s commercial setup, including pricing logic, commission or markup method, and how tax and fees are handled.
While the Commercial Settings (like BAR/NET/Commission) are pre-set by the property, you can adjust the Tax Management configuration if needed. These settings determine how VAT and other fees are applied or excluded from the rates.
✨ Be sure to align your tax settings with the property’s configuration to avoid mismatched pricing or booking issues.
Rates → Commercial Settings
This section displays the property’s current commercial configuration, including how your rates are structured and whether commission or markup is applied.
Table Reference - Rates → Commercial Settings
| Field | Description |
Indicates the rate category. In this case, it is set to Rooms.
Shows whether the property’s rates are based on BAR (Best Available Rate) or NET rates or both. This is automatically defined by the property.
Displays the applicable commission or markup (if any).
If the property has defined Custom Terms specifically for your connection, this field becomes editable. Otherwise, it’s locked (auto-managed).
The timestamp reflects the last configuration update. Hover over the i icon to see the user who made the last update.
✨ Tip: You can only edit this section if the property enables custom terms for your account. Otherwise, it is view-only.
Rates → Tax Management (VAT/Fees)
This section allows you to customize how you require taxes and fees to be handled for the connection. If you need to apply specific tax settings for your system, use the Custom mode.
✨ Tip: If set to Auto, the property’s default settings will be used. Switch to Custom to configure based on your system’s tax requirements.
Table reference - Rates → Tax Management (VAT/Fees)
| Field | Description |
Shows which rate category the rule applies to → in this case, Rooms.
This is your expected tax setup. For example, whether you require the amount before or after tax to be included in the price.
Displays how the property currently sends the data to you. If there’s a mismatch, use the Update To option to align.
Tick the checkbox to adjust how you’d like the property to send prices (e.g., from excluded to included).
| Defines how VAT/Fee changes impact your rate:
|
If you select Custom, the fields below will become editable. Click Edit to modify the settings as needed.
Shows the last date and time these settings were modified. Hover over the i icon to see the user who made the last update.
Set to Auto to keep the property’s default tax behavior. Choose Custom to define your own required setup → this enables all fields for editing.
Example Use Case: Let’s say your system requires the price after tax, but the property is sending before tax prices → simply set taxes settings to Custom, update the field to “Included,” and select “Add charges” to reflect your required rate logic.
Note: If you select Custom, the fields below will become editable. Click Edit to modify the settings as needed.
✨ Don’t forget to click Save and Continue to apply and store any changes you make.
