In order to assist you in mapping your channel manager, please refer to the following steps provided by MEWS.
-----------------------------------------------------------
You can learn more about Bakuun here. Or, for any specific questions, reach out to support@bakuun.com.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Here are some things to know before you set up Bakuun for Mews Operations:
- If you're already live with Mews, Mews doesn't configure entire channel manager integrations for you, but Mews handles the testing and can help you in case of any problems.
- If you already have a contract with Bakuun, click Connect.
- This channel is a two-way connection meaning that Mews manages availability, rates and restrictions. Reservations are pushed from Bakuun into Mews.
-----------------------------------------------------------
In this article you can learn how to set up the Bakuun integration in Mews Operations:
- Step 1: Connect Bakuun
- Step 2: Update mapped space categories
- To remove mapped space categories
- To manually map space categories
- Step 3: Update mapped rates
- To remove mapped rates
- To manually map rates
- Step 4: Connect space categories to rates
- Step 5: Mapping products
- Step 1: Map the product
- Step 2: Connect the product to a mapped rate
- If the product is charged once or per person
- Step 6: Map travel agencies
- Step 7: Send mapping info to Bakuun
- Step 8: Test the integration
- Step 9: Enable the integration
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 1: Connect Bakuun
- Go to the main menu > Marketplace.
- Under Categories, click Distribution.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Explore.
- Click Connect integration.
Note: Bakuun can work with mapping codes generated in Mews or Bakuun.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 2: Update mapped space categories
When you connect the Bakuun integration, Mews automatically maps all your space categories.
If you don't want Mews to send a space category to Bakuun, you can remove it.
To remove mapped space categories
- In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
- Locate the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Click Channel manager rates.
- Find the rate that the space category is connected to, and click on the Channel manager ID.
- In the Channel manager categories section, find the space category you want to remove and click the icon.
- Click Delete.
Repeat steps 4-6 for every space category that you don't want sent to Bakuun.
If you need to add more space categories in the future, you can manually map them.
-----------------------------------------------------------
To manually map space categories
- In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Click Channel manager categories.
- Click +.
- In the Channel manager ID field, enter a unique code for this space category. Mews recommends that you create a short code to describe the space category, for example, "PRES" for "Presidential Suite". Make sure not to include spaces or special characters.
- Under Category, select the space category you want to send to Bakuun.
- Select the Synchronized checkbox to send availability updates to the channel manager. Note: If a space category is unsynchronized, Mews doesn't send any updates.
- Click Create.
Repeat steps 4-8 for every space category that you want to map.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 3: Update mapped rates
When you connect the Bakuun integration, Mews automatically maps all your public rates.
- If a rate is mapped and synchronized, Mews sends the price and restrictions updates for it.
- If you want to assign reservations to rates but manage prices and restrictions from the channel manager, keep your rates mapped and unsyncronized.
If you want to remove some rates entirely so that reservations cannot be assigned to them, you can do so.
-----------------------------------------------------------
To remove mapped rates
- If you want to completely remove a rate so that no reservations can be created with it, delete or unsynchronize the rate in both Mews Operations and Bakuun.
- If you want to send private rates, you can manually map them.
-----------------------------------------------------------
To manually map rates
- In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Click Channel manager rates.
- Find the rate you want, and click on the Channel manager ID.
- Click +.
- In the Channel manager ID field, enter a unique code for this rate. Mews recommends that you create a short code to describe it. For example, "NRBB" for a non-refundable rate that includes breakfast. Make sure not to include spaces or special characters
- Under Rate, select the rate you want to send to Bakuun.
- Find the Synchronized checkbox and decide which updates you want to send to the channel manager.
- Synchronized rates send pricing and restriction updates to the channel manager.
- Unsynchronized rates don’t send pricing or restriction updates to the channel manager, but can still receive reservations.
If you want to manage rate pricing in Bakuun rather than Mews Operations, make sure the rate is unsynchronized.
- Click Create.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 4: Connect space categories to rates
- In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Click Channel manager rates.
- Find the rate you want, and click on the Channel manager ID.
- Connect the rate to one or more space categories:
- Click +, and then click + Channel manager category to connect only specific space categories. For example, if it's a promotional rate.
- Click Connect all to connect all mapped space categories to the rate.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 5: Mapping Products
Package products to ensure that you add them to your channel manager reservations.
- If you charge the product per night or per person per night, you can package it with a rate.
Note: Bakuun provides unique codes for product mapping.
---------------------------
Step 1: Map the product
- In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Click on + to map a product.
- In the Channel manager ID section, enter the unique code provided by Bakuun
- Click Save.
Repeat steps 3-5 for every product that you want sent to Bakuun.
---------------------------
Step 2: Connect the product to a mapped rate
- In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Click Channel manager rates.
- Find the rate you want to package a product with, and click on the Channel manager ID.
- Click +, and then click + Channel manager product.
- Under Product, select the product you want.
- Click Create.
Repeat steps 5-7 for every product that you want to be available via Bakuun. Repeat these steps with the same rate to package it with multiple products.
---------------------------
If the product is charged once or per person
These products can't be mapped. Instead, you'll need to create a product rule.
- Go to the main menu > Settings > Services.
- Select a Bookable service.
- Under Settings, click Product rules.
- Click the + button.
- Under Action, select Add.
- Under Product, choose the product that you want added to a reservation.
- Choose the condition that must be met in order for the product to be added to the reservation. For example, if you want the product to be added when the reservation is made with a specific rate:
- Under Rate condition, select Equals.
- Under Rate, select the rate you want the product packaged with.
- Under Origin condition, select Equals.
- Under Origin, select Channel manager.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 6: Map travel agencies
For each travel agency, you need to create a profile / contract and set up mapping. Then, Mews Operations can automatically detect and handle any new reservations from that agency.
With Bakuun, Mews recommends that you only map the most specific reservation sources. You can learn more about travel agency mapping here.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 7: Send mapping info to Bakuun
- Go to the main menu > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Find and copy the Channel manager ID.
- Send it to Bakuun support. Note: Bakuun refers to this ID as a "connection token."
- Bakuun support pulls the Mews Operations mapping information to Bakuun and instructs you on how to complete the mapping in Bakuun. Once you are done with this, you can continue to the next step.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 8: Test the integration
This test fails:
- If there are any errors with your mapping setup in Bakuun, or
- If you don't finish this step.
To resolve any mapping issues in Bakuun, contact Bakuun support (support@bakuun.com).
---------------------------
To test the integration:
- Go to the main menu > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
- Under Enabled operations, select Upload availability, Upload rates, and Upload restrictions.
- Click Save.
- In the Options section:
- Under Action, select Push inventory.
- Under From, select today's date.
- Under To, select 1 week from today.
- Click OK and refresh the page.
- If you have mapping errors, your selections under Enabled operations are no longer selected, and Mews sends a detailed list of the errors to the address entered in the Notification email Fix the errors and repeat steps 2-6.
- If the inventory update is successful, Mews sends an email to the address you enter in the Notification email
- When you have no mapping errors, log in to your Bakuun account and compare the availability, rates, and restrictions to those in Mews Operations.
- If they don't match, make sure you didn't add availability limits, commissions, taxes, or markups in Bakuun. If you need help with this step, contact Bakuun support (support@bakuun.com).
-----------------------------------------------------------
Step 9: Enable the integration
- In the Marketplace, go to My subscriptions.
- Find the Bakuun integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.

- Under From, select today's date.
- Under To, select 365 days from today.
- Click OK.
